1. Introduction

Welcome to MyFxDiary ("we", "our", "us"). MyFxDiary is a trading journal platform available on the web and as an Android application, designed to help traders log, analyze, and reflect on their trading activity. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have regarding your data.

By creating an account or using MyFxDiary in any form (website or mobile application), you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide, secure, and improve MyFxDiary. This includes:

2.1 Account Information

  • Name, email address, and password (encrypted) provided at registration, or basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Profile photo, bio, trading style, currency preference, and timezone, if you choose to add them.
  • Subscription/plan status and billing history related to your account.

2.2 Trading Journal Data

  • Trade entries you log, including instrument/pair, market type, entry and exit price, lot size, stop loss, take profit, profit/loss, strategy tags, confidence level, psychology notes, mistake notes, session, and any free-text notes you add.
  • Screenshots or chart images you voluntarily upload against a trade (entry/exit charts, additional gallery images).
  • Your personal trading rules, checklists, and preferences configured in the app.

2.3 MT5 Account Information (Optional Feature)

If you choose to add an MT5 broker account for reference purposes, we store the account number, server name, and a demo/live flag you provide. Your MT5 password, if entered, is stored securely and is never returned or displayed back to you or any other party through the application after submission; it is used solely to allow you to update the saved record.

2.4 AI Trading Coach

If you use the in-app AI Chat feature, the question you ask and relevant summarized trade statistics from your journal are sent to our AI service provider (OpenAI) to generate a personalized response. We do not send your name, email, password, or payment details to the AI provider. Chat conversations may be temporarily logged on our servers to improve the quality of responses and are periodically cleared as part of routine data maintenance.

2.5 Payment Information

When you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by our third-party payment partners, Razorpay and/or RazCrypto. MyFxDiary does not collect or store your full card number, UPI PIN, bank credentials, or wallet private keys at any time. We only receive and store a payment confirmation reference and the plan/amount associated with your transaction.

2.6 Referral & Leaderboard Data

If you participate in our referral program, we store your referral code, referral link clicks, and the payout method details (such as UPI ID, bank details, or crypto wallet address) you choose to provide for withdrawals. If you opt in to appear on the public trading leaderboard, your name, trading statistics, and profile photo (as permitted by your own privacy toggles) may be visible to other users. You may disable leaderboard visibility, individual-trade visibility, and specific statistic visibility (P&L, win rate, trade count) at any time from your Profile Settings.

2.7 Device, Usage & Technical Data

  • IP address, device model, operating system and version, app version, and general usage/interaction data (which features you use, crash and error logs).
  • A Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) device token, used solely to deliver push notifications you have opted into (such as trade reminders or weekly performance reports).
  • Crash and diagnostic reports collected automatically through Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix technical issues. These reports may include device information and the app state at the time of the crash, but do not include your trading journal content.

2.8 Cookies (Website Only)

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand aggregate usage patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect certain website features.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and maintain your account and authenticate you securely.
  • To provide core journal functionality: storing your trades, generating your Dashboard, Analytics, Calendar, and Trading Journal views.
  • To power the AI Trading Coach feature you choose to use.
  • To process subscription payments and manage your billing history.
  • To operate the optional Referral and Leaderboard programs, according to your own visibility settings.
  • To send you notifications and communications you have opted into (push notifications, transactional emails, OTP verification, weekly reports).
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents.
  • To diagnose technical issues and improve the stability and performance of the app.
  • To comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your trading journal data to provide investment advice, and we do not use your data for automated trading of any kind.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, under any circumstances. We share information only in the following limited situations:

  • Service Providers: Trusted third parties who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations, specifically: Google Firebase (authentication infrastructure, push notifications, crash reporting, cloud hosting), Razorpay and RazCrypto (payment processing), and OpenAI (AI Trading Coach responses, as described in Section 2.4).
  • Leaderboard/Referral Visibility: Information you explicitly choose to make public through your own privacy toggles, as described in Section 2.6.
  • Legal Requirements: When required to comply with a valid legal process, government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MyFxDiary, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy continuing to apply.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage, secure token-based authentication (Laravel Sanctum), encrypted local storage for authentication tokens on your device, and HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the app/website and our servers. Despite these measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and trading journal data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account through the app (Settings > Delete Account), your account is deactivated immediately and your personal data is scheduled for permanent deletion from our active systems, except where we are legally required to retain certain records (such as payment records for tax and accounting purposes) for a limited additional period.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data directly from your Profile settings.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data at any time from within the app.
  • Control your public visibility on the Leaderboard and Referral features.
  • Opt out of push notifications and non-essential emails at any time.
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us using the details in Section 11.

8. Children's Privacy

MyFxDiary is a financial trading journal intended for adult traders and is not directed at, nor knowingly used to collect data from, individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers and service providers may process and store data in locations outside your country of residence, including but not limited to India and the United States. By using MyFxDiary, you consent to your information being processed in these locations, which may have different data protection laws than your own country.

Our app and website may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as broker platforms or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
